 "Loud pop is scary!" 2009-01-06
By Curtis Wayne Davis
Bought Bravia 32inch XBR2 for about $1500 big ones last spring with 3 bad pixels(at the time it was the "best of the best" according to some online reviews. Returned it same day to BB and got one with zero bad pixels. Great picture, perfect for our bedroom, then POW! a large POP, and the tv's dead. No response from remote, no response from the power on/off on the tv. Have to pull out the dresser, unplug from the power , wait a few seconds, plug it back in, then enjoy the tv for a few more weeks, then POW, the big POP! Went out and bought a $120 power brick from Monster thinking that might fix it. Nope, POW, the big POP, some ole thing. We don't watch it much so I finally bit the bullet and called BB for service. They say Sony isn't interested, and that there's no problem with my tv. I guess they're waiting for it to catch fire, burn my house down, kill a few of my kids, then dance with me in the courtroom! BB says they can't believe Sony ignores such a serious issue, but hey, it's only occuring it a few, I haven't seen smoke and flames, so maybe you'll be lucky. I'll never buy another Sony product, even though I have a two tv's, two camcorders, and two camera's made by them. Move on to another brand or take the risk. I thnk the days of "its got to be a Sony" are done! Next time, instead of buying the best, latest release, I think I'll do some homework and buy one that's been out at least 6 months. If you buy sony, buy a warranty, or roll the dice.

 "Great picture and audio" 2007-09-14
By Robert Enyeart
If I had it to do over, I would - for sure.

I thought default picture settings were about perfect to me.

I did brighten it a bit to see more detail in shadows.

Audio is better than adequate.

Price is right

Shipper was great and arrived earlier than estimated.

(can't trust tracking location, mine said it was still in Ohio when shipper called said they were ready to deliver it)

Ok, a complaint:

The remote is too skinny and not balanced well - disappointing - but can live with it.

"Top Segment LCD for Good Value" 2007-07-02
By J. E. Ellis (Leiden, Netherlands (Europe))
Wow, am I glad we waited to buy ourselves a flatscreen TV.

So many options yet so little real good advice out there. Ended up buying this Sony Screen (mainly because the DVD-R's also from Sony, as is the home cinema set).

Five top reasons to go out and buy one yourself:

1. Great colours and contrasts

2. Sleek Classy Design

3. Not too big, which fits a modest living room/master bedroom just fine

4. Easy set up features

5. If you hook it up with a HDMI cable (to your Home Cinema Set) you're really off

One minor flaw:

1. Sound is limited (mediocre at best); but a medium to up market Home Cinema Set should have that covered.

I recommend to anyone, who's still debating which type of LCD to buy, to opt for this beauty. You won't get much more value for money anywhere else.....

Sometimes it pays to choose the best. This is one of those times.
